Bondgate Tower
The Grade I listed Hotspur Gateway, a 15th-century gatehouse forming part of Alnwick’s medieval defences, was digitally recorded to support repair, maintenance, and long-term conservation.
Commissioned to provide a high-accuracy reference asset, the project combined 3D laser scanning with UAV-based and terrestrial photogrammetry, all referenced to an Ordnance Survey ground control network.
The survey captured both the exterior elevations, roof, and internal archway, producing orthophotographs, measured drawings, and a detailed textured 3D model.
The resulting photorealistic digital record enables remote inspection, accurate measurement, and informed conservation decision-making.
