LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an advanced active remote sensing technology that has transformed the way landscapes and built environments are mapped and analysed. The system operates by emitting laser pulses towards the ground and measuring the time taken for those pulses to return after reflecting off surfaces. Using the known speed of light, precise distance measurements are calculated, resulting in the generation of highly detailed three-dimensional datasets that accurately represent the surveyed environment.
