The Victoria Tunnel, a 19th-century subterranean wagonway beneath Newcastle upon Tyne, was digitally surveyed to support conservation and restoration works.

Constructed between 1839 and 1842 to transport coal from Spital Tongues Colliery to the River Tyne, the tunnel was later repurposed as a Second World War air-raid shelter.

The commission involved high-resolution laser scanning to capture the full extent of the surviving tunnel, recording its stone lining, brick arch, and internal modifications.

The resulting accurate 3D dataset provides a robust digital record, supporting heritage interpretation, structural understanding, and long-term management of this nationally significant industrial monument.
